Need help with my Romeo and Juliet book report!tel whether liked book or not, why wht did u learn from this book? summary of begin, mid, end...

Romeo and Juliet is a Play not a book! It is one of the most famous love stories ever written, but only you can say whether you have enjoyed it or not. I feel you need to see Shakespeare performed on stage where it belongs, although there are some good film versions, notably the Leonardo DiCaprio version - try to see that if you can.

Quick summary - two families at war, the Capulets and Montagues. Each family has a single child, Romeoi Montague and Juliet Capulet. They fall in love with each other and behind their families backs they get married. This will create all sorts of problems. Tybalt (a Capulet) looks for Romeo and wants to kill him, Romeo's friend Mercutio gets involved when he feels Romeo is backing off from a fight and gets killed by Tybalt. Romeo in anger then kills Tybalt and is banished from Verona.

In the mean time Juliets family want her to get maried to the 'Noble Paris' a local well connected rich kid.

She seeks help from a priest who married her to Romeo. He gives her a potion that makes it look as if she has died, he promises to get a message to Romeo so he can come and get her when she wakes.

Romeo does not get the message, hears only that Juliet is dead. He returns to her 'dead' body and commits suicide.

Juliet wakes in time to see Romeo dead, she also then commits suicide.

The two families are reconciliated too late as they see the tragedy of Juliet and Romeo!

The moral is for parents to listen to their children and be aware of their feelings - that love is stronger than any other emotion.

Romeo as the main character is a lover, but also a young man very close to his friends and willing to die for his emotions. He is 'lost' away from his parents and wondering how to find a place for himself in the world.

Hope this helps - but please try and see the film!
