In "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury, what unusual qualities and appliances does the house have?

"There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury is a very interesting story to read, because Bradbury sets it in the future, where technology has created many appliances and gadgets that are pretty cool.  Unfortunately, the story is a sad one, and all of the cool gadgets in the world can't save the society from destruction.  Thinking about the spiffy things that the house has though is pretty interesting.

One neat appliance is a "breakfast stove" that, at a determined time each morning, provides toast, eggs and bacon for the family to eat.  They don't have to cook them at all, the machine makes it for them.  Another rather unusual feature of the house is a posse of robotic mice that clean up any messes on the floor--dirt, spills, dust, ect.  They come out and clean up the messes, and scurry back into their corner.  The doors of the house recognize voices; when the dog comes up and whines, the door recognizes its voice and opens up for it.  So, they don't ever have to open doors, they just speak.  That evening, a game of bridge, complete with martinis, materializes out of the walls--the house sets up an entire party for the family, without them doing any work.

Those are just a few of the really neat an interesting gadgets, appliances and technologies that the house has.  Others are baths that fill themselves, beds that warm themselves, clocks and calendars that speak the time, weather sensors that tell the family how to dress, and cool imagery walls and floors in the kids' bedrooms.  Pretty schnazzy, overall.  I hope that those thoughts helped a bit; good luck!
