What is the meaning of the poem "From Nature"?symbolism, characteristics, deeper meanings

Like much of Emerson and the Transcendentalist movement, Emerson's work explores how individuals can discover and claim a conception of real truth as opposed to the illusions social orders offer.  Emerson seeks to explain how spiritual depth and understanding of divinity can be gained through experiencing these elements away from traditionalist notions that have lost sight of the individual.  These institutional forms of worship are the elements which distance individual from truth.  The natural setting, for Emerson, is a domain where truth in its many forms can be found precisely because it is not institutionalized and not controlled by a power based hierarchy.  The work helps to crystallize Emerson's notion of reality and his idea that conformity to social trends and social perceptions of the good will inhibit the individual's embrace of true self and identity.
