How do the changes in Kit affect the other characters in The Witch of Blackbird Pond?Kit obviously changes throughout the novel, how do those...

As Kit becomes used to the hard work of surviving in the colonies, her uncle and his family begin to respect her more. At first, she is very inept having had servants to do everything for her growing up. As she masters the chores without complaint, the family begins to accept her more. Judith is kinder to her, and her uncle voices his appreciation to her for her help when Judith and Mercy were sick. As Hannah supports and counsels Kit after her disastrous lesson at the dame school, Kit faces the churchmen and expresses her wish to continue teaching there. She promises to teach as they wish. Her honesty and forthrightness impress the board members who allow her to continue. Her rescue of Hannah and return to the village impresses Nat. Kit has learned the value of hard work, loyalty, and compromise needed to succeed in the New World. In doing so, she earns the love and respect of family, neighbors, and Nat.
