The atomic number of argon is 18. Will argon tend to form bonds with other elements?

Argon is still studied  based on kinetic theory of gases, also. Ramsey noted that the gas is monatomic and therefore found not to be a body composed.
This discovery of a gas in air is a resounding success in the scientific circles of the time. But far from being  a finished task, success was likely to stimulate further research that will finally bring the discovery of a family of rare gases.

Studying its characteristics, it was discovered that argon is not totally inert, photolysis of hydrogen fluoride in a solid argon matrix at 7.5 kelvin, produces argon fluorohydride, HArF.

Because of its lack of reactivity, argon ensures an unreactive atmosphere, therefore it is used in light bulbs, with the aim of filament protection.

We can find argon  in medical devices which are using laser technique and in semi-conductors industry.

There are several ways for obtaining argon, other than naturally:by catallitic burning , from liquefied air, using fractional distillation.
